Infant Instructions • If Baby is not waking up to feed, not responsive, having trouble breathing or changing colors, Proceed to the nearest Emergency Room • If baby has a fever (rectal) greater than 100.4F or less than 96.5F, proceed to nearest Emergency Room • Stool (poop): Initially dark and sticky (meconium) will transition in the first few days to a more yellow, seedy mushy stool. -Some babies will stool with every feed, others will only go once a week -Stool should be soft: No blood, White, or clay colored stool • Spit up: Every child has some spit up. The muscle that prevents reflux forms over the 1st year of life. Some spit up is expected. Good burping technique, not overfeeding can help. -If child is vomiting (large quantity or forcefully) with each feed, call your pediatrician -If there is blood in the spit up or stool , call the pediatrician Lactation: -www.llli.org -www.ilca.org
